COO Maria Korsnick to succeed retiring CEO Marv Fertel early next year, guiding group amid nuclear energy struggles Korsnick The Nuclear Energy Institute is turning to an industry executive to lead the group at a time when nuclear energy faces an uncertain future. NEI announced Oct. 4 that Maria Korsnick has been named president and CEO of the $55 million-revenue association, effective Jan. 1. She will replace Marv Fertel, who is retiring after having led the association since 2009. Korsnick is currently NEI's COO.
